Founded in 2018, Living Kombucha's mission is to bridge the gap between the growing awareness of healthy lifestyles and the unhealthy beverage options available in the market. We create drinks that are good for our bodies and support both short- and long-term health goals. Our kombucha is made with love, care, and the finest ingredients, using traditional brewing methods to ensure maximum quality and health benefits.

We are committed to offering an authentic, alive, and healthy product that supports gut health and overall vitality.

OUR STORY

Our story didn't start with a business vision but with a genuine love for the ancient health drink, kombucha, and a desire to share it with the world. Our goal was to bring the healing power of kombucha to Israel and help people live healthier and better lives.

DISCOVERING KOMBUCHA

Our journey began in Central America and during our time in California, where we discovered the magic of kombucha. This drink captivated us - not only because of its unique taste but also because of the numerous health benefits it offers. From the very first moment,

we became passionate home brewers of kombucha, even fermenting kombucha in our van during our travels.

THE ENTREPRENEURIAL
START

Upon returning to Israel, we realized that there was no kombucha available locally, and we knew it was our time to act. With entrepreneurial energy and enthusiastic passion, we opened a booth at farmers' markets, where we sold kombucha alongside chai, cacao, and other drinks. However, it quickly became clear—

Kombucha is the undeniable star.

IN THE HOME KITCHEN

Like all good things, we started small—in our humble home kitchen, with simple glass jars, recycled bottles, and handwritten labels noting flavors and dates.

Tel Aviv Microbrewery

An unfulfilled business opportunity brought us to Tel Aviv. There, we established a professional space in the heart of the industrial area in the south of the city. We brewed, created, and distributed kombucha to leading restaurants and health food stores while continuously upgrading our brand and our products.

Building the First Israeli Kombucha Factory

As demand for our kombucha grew, we realized that scaling up meant taking a bold step forward—establishing a certified factory. After countless searches and visits to existing drink production facilities, it became clear that none truly met our unique needs. The decision was inevitable: we had to build our own factory.

 

Finding the right location, given Israel's real estate climate, was a challenge in itself. It took nearly a year to find a potential home for our vision. From there began the even longer bureaucratic journey of submitting plans for approval. Throughout it all, we remained focused on creating a space where we could share our passion and produce kombucha on a larger scale.

Back Home

When the COVID pandemic hit, it interrupted and delayed our expansion plans, bringing us back home. As a family, we moved to Pardes Hanna, choosing a larger house that could accommodate both us and our growing business. This move aimed at cutting costs and keeping our business alive while continuing our administrative efforts to secure factory approvals. Ultimately, this decision proved successful, as we managed to keep operating throughout the entire period.

The Great Fall and Searching for a New Home

Like in every good story, we too faced a moment of crisis. Our request to establish a factory in Israel was ultimately denied, and our home production became the subject of investigations and fines due to the lack of a license. Everything came to a halt, and we had to start anew.

We decided to stop, rethink, and explore the international market. As a family, we temporarily moved to Latvia, where we observed how kombucha producers operated across Europe. This journey took us through numerous factories—from Holland to Germany and Ireland—where we tasted, learned, and searched for the perfect production environment. Eventually, we found our ideal partners in Lithuania, and it became clear that our path to success would be through importing.
 

European Production and Nationwide Distribution

In the heart of Lithuania, where we felt a deep connection, we began refining our recipes and producing kombucha of the highest quality. With regulatory changes in importing to Israel, new opportunities opened up, allowing us to bring a living, probiotic, and unpasteurized drink to Israel—fulfilling our dream of offering a truly healthy beverage to the Israeli public.

Now, with fully licensed kombucha, we have distributed our drink to health food stores and leading restaurants across Israel. Our bottles, carrying a clear message of live probiotics and gut health, have once again reached our loyal customers, bringing our vision to life.

Future Plans

Our vision remains strong: to bridge the gap between growing health awareness and the commercial offerings available today. The road ahead is still long, but we are determined to keep going—with our kombucha, and with additional living, fermented products.

We are an international family that loves to travel and explore the world. With backgrounds and passions in fields like design, architecture, planning, yoga, meditation, music, teaching, and cooking—and with a deep connection to spirituality and nature—we emphasize topics often overlooked in the food industry, bringing forth our unique and colorful perspective.
